窄帶物聯網智慧照護系統創新開發與場域驗證

物聯網智慧照護產品在居家環境使用仍有幾項基本問題,長者網路使用率低,如果沒有其他需求,月繳高額網路使用費用並不合理;此外將產品連接上網操作複雜,家中臥室無線網路訊號不佳,也是使用性上的障礙。本研究以窄帶物聯網NB-IoT進行智慧照護系統創新開發,居家環境不再需要Wi-Fi AP,所有裝置均直接透過NB-IoT基地台上網,室內戶外均可直接連線,大幅提高物聯網智慧裝置的移動性和便利性。 本研究將窄帶物聯網智慧照護系統在桃園榮家「忘我園區」進行場域測試,除整理系統在實際場域建置的程序及使用上可能發生的問題外,並進一步將NB-IoT在智慧照護上的應用與Wi-Fi上網做比較。場域建置3坪的物聯網智慧臥房,包含人力及裝置價格約為9萬元;若使用Wi-Fi上網每月需付700元,使用NB-IoT流量費用每月僅需25元。本研究發現,相較於使用Wi-Fi,窄帶物聯網在將物聯網智慧照護系統帶入居家應用有許多優勢。

Innovative development and field trial of Narrow Band Internet of Things smart care system

There are still several basic issues in the use of IoT smart care products in the home. Internet usage is low for older adults. High monthly fee for Internet service is not acceptable. Connecting the IoT product to home Wi-Fi AP has been a major usability issue; Wi-Fi coverage is often poor in bedroom. Narrow band Internet of Things (NB-IoT) is used for the innovative development in smart care system. Wi-Fi is not a requirement in all of the IoT products developed at home, which can connect the network by NB-IoT base station directly, whether indoors or outdoors. This can greatly improve the mobility and convenience of the smart devices. NB-IoT smart care systems are implemented for field trial in the Taoyuan veteran nursing home for demented residents. In addition to organizing the implementation process and finding the potential problems in the field trial, NB-IoT smart care systems are compared with those using Wi-Fi. It costs about 90,000 NT dollars for setting up a smart care bedroom. The fee of network costs 700 NT dollars per month by using Wi-Fi, and costs only 25 NT dollars by using NB-IoT. In this field trial, we also found that NB-IoT smart care systems have many advantages over the Wi-Fi systems, when establishing the systems in the homes.
